About Club
Established in 1927, Joginder Gymkhana Club, Mandi is one of the oldest and most distinguished social and sporting institutions in Himachal Pradesh. Named in honour of HH Raja Sir Joginder Sen, the last ruling king of the former princely State of Mandi, the club reflects the city's rich royal heritage and enduring traditions.
Early History
Founded during the reign of HH Sir Raja Joginder Sen, the club was envisioned as an exclusive recreational and social venue for the royal family, senior government officials, and the prominent citizens of Mandi. Over the decades, it has evolved into a cherished institution that continues to promote sports, fellowship, and community engagement.
The club was formally inaugurated on 15 October 1927 by Field Marshal Sir William Birdwood, who was serving as the Commander-in-Chief of the British Indian Army at the time. Since its inception, Joginder Gymkhana Club has remained a symbol of excellence, tradition, and social camaraderie, preserving its historic legacy while embracing the needs of future generations.
